Vickie L. Myers

Vickie L. Myers, age 60, of Elkhart, Kansas died Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at the Senior Living Care Center in Elkhart, Kansas. She was born April 2, 1956, in Elkhart, Kansas the daughter of Darrell and Evelyn (Lawrence) Wares.

Vickie was a lifetime resident of Elkhart and graduated from Elkhart High School. She married Thomas Myers on July 23, 1976, in Elkhart. Vickie’s family was the most important thing in her life. She enjoyed attending her daughter’s school activities and sporting events. She also enjoyed working in her yard, helping others, visiting the mountains, fishing, reading and doing jigsaw puzzles. She was a member of Alpha Phi Sorority, the Church of God, and former Jaycee’s member.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas of their home; daughter, Jessica Myers of Wichita, Kansas; brothers, Robert Wares of Elk Grove, California, Jamie Wares of Elkhart, Kansas; sisters, Jennifer Hanson of Amarillo, Texas, Debra Coen of Elkhart, Kansas; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Vickie is preceded in death by her parents.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 9, 2016, at the Elkhart Cemetery in Elkhart with Pastor Dennis Reimer officiating. Friends may call on Friday, April 8, 2016 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart. The family requests memorials may be given to the Church of God youth program in care of Garnand Funeral Home, PO Box 854, Elkhart, KS 67950.
