Elisabeth M. Imel, 84, died Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City.
She was born August 21, 1931 in Austria, the daughter of Alois and Johanna Pfeiffer. She moved from Austria to the United States in 1956 and to Dodge City in 1967. She worked at McDonald’s Department Store in Dodge City for many years.
She was a member of the First Christian Church and the Boot Hill Red Hat Gals both in Dodge City and was a 15 year member of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority.
In December of 1955 she married Neil L. Imel in Austria. The best years of there lives together were the 24 years that she was an Army wife to Neil. He preceded her in death on February 24, 2005.
Survivors include: her son, Tom Imel and wife Sharon, Dodge City; her daughter, Christine Kincaid and husband Kevin, Manchester, New Hampshire; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 2:00 pm Friday May 13, 2016 at Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City with Richard Crockett officiating. Visitation will be Thursday May 12, 2016 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City.
