Several Programs Achieving Success to Curb Dodge Housing Problem

Dodge City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) The studies do not lie, Dodge City like many other towns in Western Kansas has a housing shortage. The good news is JoAnn Knight and the Dodge City/Ford County Development Corporation have a target on how much they need over the next five years.

The Rural Housing Incentive District is one of the programs that is working.

RHID has help developers build 300 housing units in Ford County, with another 300 in the planning stages.  Knight describes another program that has achieved success the Neighborhood Revitalization Program Works.

You must also maintain ownership of your property throughout the process. The city also works with DCCC to refurbish old homes for lower income people.
