Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) The State Attorney General’s office has filed charges against a 33 year old man from Garden City after he was accused of forcing his way into the home of Chief District Judge Wendell Wurst and holding the justice at gunpoint.

Jason Nichols is facing assault, battery, kidnapping and terrorism charges for the standoff with police that lasted almost six hours on May 31st.  Bond for Nichols has been set at 1.3 million dollars.  Wednesday marked the deadline imposed for the Attorney General to file charges or the pending case against Nichols would have been thrown out.
