Raymond Coker, 86, died Saturday, June 4, 2016 at his home in Dodge City. 

He was born September 1, 1929 at Ness City, the son of Walter and Anna (Fercking) Coker. He was a graduate of Ness City High School and moved to Dodge City in the late 1940’s. On September 25, 1950, he married Hilda Riedlinger at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Dodge City. He farmed after his marriage and in the early 1950’s started Coker Trucking in Dodge City. 

He was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Dodge City. 

Survivors include: 3 children, Linda Dorrell, Derby, Kenny Coker, Wright and Dennis Coker, Dodge City; 2 brothers, Doug Coker, Huntley, Illinois and Walt Coker, Topeka; 4 sisters, Francie Wendler, Dodge City, Shirley Stein, Spearville, Phyllis Schuette, Montrose, Colorado and Margaret Rohr, Neosho, Missouri; 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda, on May 21, 2012, his parents, 3 brothers, Martin, Don and John Coker and 2 sisters, Reba Kolbeck and Helen Schrader. 

Vigil service will be 7:00 pm Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Friday at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Dodge City, with Fr. Aneesh Parappanattu presiding. Burial will follow in Greencrest Memorial Gardens, Dodge City. Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm at Ziegler Funeral Chapel.
