Belva J. Rosenau, 78 died Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at her home in Garden City. She was born January 27, 1938 in Pawnee County, Kansas the daughter of Raymond P. & Verda L. (Klein) Blackburn.
Belva grew up in Rozel, Kansas where she attended school. After graduating from high school, she attended beauty school at Southwest Kansas Area Vo-Tech in Dodge City. Belva moved to Garden City in 1971 from Dodge City and she has lived in Garden City since. She worked for 40 years at Orscheln’s in Garden City. Belva enjoyed handywork, crafts, traveling, and collecting salt and pepper shakers.
On August 17, 1988 she married Dale Rosenau in Garden City. He died on March 5, 2015. Belva is also preceded in death by her parents and a brother Raymond P. Blackburn.
Survivors include a son Bill Knight of Garden City; a daughter Tami Maynard of Garden City; and 3 granddaughters Hillary Thackery, Ally Withrow, and Riley Maynard.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Garden Valley Church in Garden City. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday and the family will be at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday to visit with friends.
