Donald L. Ross
Donald L. Ross, 86, died July 16, 2016 at his residence in Dodge City. He was born on December 17, 1929 at Great Bend, Kansas the son of Earl and Vida (Arnold) Ross.
A longtime Dodge City resident he married Effie Mae in 1973, she survives. Don enjoyed hunting and fishing with his hunting buddy Reverend Sherman Rains. He loved to go for rides with his wife. Mr. Ross loved spending time with his family.
He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church and a lifelong member of the St. Bernard Lodge #222 AF&AM all of Dodge City.
Survivors include his wife Effie Ross of the home; son Steve Ross and wife Deanna of Lawrence; three daughters Jennifer Stone of Burmley, Missouri; Kay Wood of Kansas City, Missouri; Karla Kinyon of Plankinton, South Dakota; step son Tom Robinson and wife Rita of Hinckley, Utah. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home on Thursday July 21, 2016 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Sherman Rains presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Wednesday July 20, 2016 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Donald Ross Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
