Rena Fay Hershey
Rena Fay Hershey passed from this life on July 4, 2016 at the age of 82. She was born April 24, 1934 in Hugoton, Kansas the daughter of William and Effie (Gooch) McGehee. She married Paul Hershey April 22, 1950 and moved to the farm south of Rolla where they lived and worked 66 years.
She was always hard working and helped dad on the farm as well as raising six children, sewing, crocheting, knitting, and especially reading.
Rena was preceded in death by her sisters; Dorothy, Lea, Joyce and her twin sister Rita –brothers; Vernon, Hubert, and Jim.
Surviving is her husband and six children: Retta and Sam Eiland of Rolla, Kansas, Paula and Fred Lehman of Overland Park, Kansas, James and Susan Hershey of Conyers, Georgia, Mark and Jaine Hershey of Clearlake, Texas, David Hershey of Liberal, Kansas, and John and Letty Hershey of Edingburg, Texas; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Rolla United Methodist Church in Rolla, Kansas. Burial will follow at Rolla Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, July 8, 2016 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart.
