Broncbuster football moves up in the polls

Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com)-Last week, Garden City appeared in the national polls for the first time since 2013.

Fast forward seven days, and the Broncbusters are not only in the rankings, they are slowly climbing their way towards the top 10.

The Broncbusters came in as the No. 12 team in the country in the latest NJCAA poll released on Tuesday.

It’s Garden City’s highest national ranking since September 3, 2013 when the brown and gold had won their first two games under first-year Head Coach Matt Miller and were No. 12.

The Broncbusters are coming off a convincing 25-7 victory over Independence in week 3, a game in which Garden City held the Pirates to just 54 total yards in the second half.

Garden City visits No. 6 Hutchinson on Saturday. With a win, the Broncbusters would likely move into the top 10 for the first the preseason of 2008 (they were No.9). Kickoff is 1 p.m. on Saturday. You can listen to the game on 99.9 FM; westernkansasnews.com/kwkr or the mobile app-keyword: KWKR
