Attempted Murder; Robbery; and Stabbing Reported to Police

Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) It has been an active few days for the Garden City Police Department.  Beginning last Thursday an attempted robbery occurred outside the J.C. Penny’s.  A man and a woman tried to get another woman to take them home and wouldn’t let her leave.  Eventually the suspects were taken to a bank where they withdrew money, but repeated attempts were made of the victim demanding money.  Both suspects were middle aged.

A domestic dispute led to a man being shot in the arm once last Friday.  30 year old Mekonen Gebrehiwet was the victim during an altercation with his girlfriend 29 year old Nigisti Beyene.  Beyene was arrested and charged with attempted murder.

Saturday officers were called out to America’s Best Value Inn for a stabbing.  Upon arrival 20 year old Jerry Zorn was stabbed multiple times in the back.  A fight have broken out among a number of people.  Zorn didn’t know the attacker.
