Garden City Schools to Give Input on New School Funding Model
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) The new school funding formula that the legislature will have to come up with next year has many components needed to ensure its success.
Superintendent at USD 457 Doctor Steve Karlin has been asked to send the Governor what the district feels is important in devising the new plan. District Public Information Coordinator Roy Cessna highlights areas of importance.
Cessna says the problem with the previous remedy and block grants is that the State Supreme Court did not feel they adhere to the Kansas Constitution. It is a big reason why the issue keeps being litigated in the courts.
