Jeff Williamson, 45 died Friday, October 14, 2016 at Penrose Hospital/Pikes Peak Hospice in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born June 27, 1971 in Garden City the son of James L. & Anita June (Akers) Williamson.
Jeff grew up in Garden City where he graduated from Garden City High School in 1989. He later served in the United States Navy on the USS Nimitz during the Gulf War from November 1, 1990 to October 30, 1992. After the service, Jeff lived in various places where he worked in the Airline and Restaurant industries. He returned to Garden City in 2013 where he has lived since. Jeff was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Garden City. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, gold mining, and he loved his Golden Retriever “Buddy.” He was also an avid fan of KU basketball, the Kansas City Royals, and the Kansas City Chiefs.  
Survivors include a son Jordan James Timmers of Tacoma, Washington; a daughter Olivia Jean Panessidi of Detroit, Michigan; his parents Jim and Anita Williamson of Garden City, Kansas; a brother Dr. Tim & wife Karin Williamson of Overland Park, Kansas; a niece Katie Williamson of Overland Park, Kansas; a nephew Sam Williamson of Overland Park, Kansas; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jeff is preceded in death by his grandparents Ed and Evelyn Williamson, and Barney and Elsie Akers all of Syracuse, Kansas.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in Garden City with Rev. Tod Anthony officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City with military graveside rites conducted by the United States Navy Honor Guard. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and the family will be at Garnand Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday to visit with friends. The family request memorials give to the Jeff Williamson Memorial Fund to support various charities in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
