Mrs Gonzalez was raised in various places in Texas including Wolford and Lubbock. She moved to Garden City in the mid 1960’s with her family. She worked as a migrant worker in the cotton, soybean, corn and milo fields to help support her family. She later drove a truck for Western Alfalfa. Her most rewarding employment was being school bus driver at USD 457 for 15 years, where she touched many children’s lives. Her hobbies included camping, fishing, dancing, sewing, baking, quilting, and arts & crafts. Beside nurturing and spending time with her children and their families, she created a vibrant garden that will serve as a beautiful remembrance. She leaves them this garden and it’s memories to cherish and care for.

She is preceded in death by her parents- Luis H. & Cipriana Garcia & Two children-Ema Calderon & George Calderon
