Kyle Christian Pelton, age 24, of Wichita, Kansas died Wednesday, November 23, 2016, in Finney County, Kansas. He was born October 13, 1992 in Hays, Kansas, the son of Galen and Robin L. (Lodge) Pelton.
Kyle moved to Ulysses in 1994. He graduated from Ulysses High School in 2011. While in high school, Kyle was in UHS musicals, National Honor Society, Odyssey of the Mind team wining state three years and also wining 10th place on a world level.
Kyle received a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting in May 2016 with a minor in Chinese from Kansas State University. He loved attending KSU and was very active. He was a member of the Farmhouse Fraternity, Christian Challenge, KSU International Student Ministry, worked at New Student Services and was voted KSU Student Employee of the Year in 2016. He was a member and head of KSU Open House Committee, and twice was a staff member at the Super Summer Collegiate Camp. Kyle was currently working in Wichita and was an accountant at Textron Aviation.
Kyle shared the gospel and ministered with people every opportunity he got. He was a member of City Life Church in Wichita, active in the Show Hope Ministries and spent time in China at an orphanage for handicapped and terminally ill children. He was active in Hands on International Ministries and spent an additional six months in east Asia. Kyle was passionate about everything he did and had friends all over the world.
He is survived by his parents, Galen and Robin Pelton of Ulysses, Kansas; two brothers, Jeremy Pelton of Louisville, Kentucky, Logan Pelton of Manhattan, Kansas ; two sisters, Nikki and Makenna Pelton both of Ulysses, Kansas; and grandmother, Leila M. Pelton of Burdett, Kansas.
Kyle is preceded in death by his grandparents; Ross Pelton, and Robert and June Lodge.
Funeral service will be Monday, November 28, 2016 at 10:30 AM at the Celebration Baptist Church in Ulysses with Pastor Jon Becker and Pastor Randy Caddell officiating. Graveside service will be Monday, November 28, 2016 at 4:00 PM at Browns Grove Cemetery in Burdett, Kansas. Friends may call Sunday, November 27, 2016 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
