Rosalie C. (Lutz) Wilkerson

Rosalie C. (Lutz) Wilkerson, 73, went to be with the Lord November 16, 2016 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. 

She was born on January 25, 1943 at Wright to Joseph and Lucile (Conrardy) Lutz. 

She was the prom queen of the 59-60 school year at St. Mary’s High School and was a member of the 1961 graduating class. On December 24, 1960 she married Larry Wilkerson in Maryland. After being a Navy wife, she owned Mom and Pops Grocery in the 60’s, went to beauty school and worked for Valos and Edith’s Beauty Shops in the 70’s. She was the owner of Mom and Pops Lounge from 1987 to 2004. She retired to do the things she loved, including cooking, canning and gardening. Her favorite pastime was playing cribbage and watching Judge Judy. 

She was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Dodge City. 

She is survived by her husband of 56 years; 2 sons, Jack Wilkerson and wife Kathy, Dodge City and Joseph Wilkerson and wife Michele, Salina; 3 Grandchildren, Chris and wife Samantha, Rachelle and Megan Rose; 3 Great grandchildren, Peyton, Hayden and Camdon; a brother, Tom Lutz, Dodge City; and a sister, Karen Yows and husband Dennis, Upper Lake, California. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Mauricia Balcerzak, a brother, Bob Lutz and a sister-in-law, Jamie Lutz. 

Memorial Services will be November 28, 2016 at 11:00 am at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City, with Fr. Wesley Schawe presiding. Inurnment will be at a later date in Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City. There will be no public viewing cremation has taken place. 

The family suggests memorials to the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th Ave., Dodge City, Kansas 67801.
