DCCC Trustees Approve Further Discussion of Land Deal with Developer

Dodge City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) The Board of Trustees at Dodge City Community College at Monday night’s meeting approved continuing discussions with a developer interested in purchasing land on campus near 14th Street.  Board member Terry Malone is not happy with pushing these talks forward because the college loses control of the land when other options are available.

City Manager Cherise Tieben says the talks are in just the preliminary stages.

Also the Board read an 11 page response refuting claims by Faculty Coalition President Sue Hammond accusing the college administration of reporting faulty numbers to close classes in favor of online courses, using intimidating tactics against critics and failing to promptly respond when nursing students had concerns about the direction of the program.

The Board stated they investigated the grievances and found little support for the faculty coalition’s accusations.  Therefore the board said no action was being taken as a result of the no confidence vote against President Nolte and Vice President Doctor John.
