Jarold graduated from Dighton High School in 1958. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1954 to 1964. He farmed in Lane County and later did seasonal work in feedlots and crop harvesting. He enjoyed playing the piano and guitar. In his earlier years he earned his pilot license and enjoyed flying. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Son- Jarrett Speer, 6 Brothers- Giles Speer, Paul Speer, Charles Speer, Keith Speer, Roger Speer & Identical Twin Gerald Speer & Sister- Berdyna Wheeler.
