International Pancake Race Ready to Run on Tuesday

Liberal, KS (westernkansasnews.com) It is Fat Tuesday the day before Lent begins and down in Liberal the battle is on with Olney, England during the International Pancake Day Race which has been held every year since 1950. One of Liberal’s residence recalls how this all began.

The race is held in Olney, England at 11:55 local time and then run hours later in Liberal at 11:55 local time. Town official then go on video link to compare the results and determine the winner of this year’s event.
