Rumford Weighs in on Legislative Discussion of School Finance

Scott City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Everyone’s heard the slogan “Short-term pain for long-term gain,” and the legislature is trying to live up to this when determining education spending in attempts to balance the current budget deficit.  USD 466 Superintendent Jaime Rumford of Scott Community Schools is keeping a close eye on what lawmakers come up with.

****UPDATE******

According to published reports, legislative leaders are looking into an alternative plan to balance the state budget that would not further cut education.
