Paul O. Muñoz went to our Lord on March 25, 2017, at Harry Hynes Hospice, Via Christi St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. He was born January 31, 1928, in Crowell, Texas. He was the son of Estanislau and Ruth Ornelas Muñoz. 

Paul served his country in the US Army as an medic during the Korean War. He also was a guitarist with a traveling U.S. Military Band, which entertained troops throughout Europe. 

He attended several schools in Garden City, Kansas and graduated from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas. 

In his lifetime, he was employed with Speed King Manufacturing and Curtis Machine Shop, as a tool and die machinist, the Santa Fe Railroad, and retired from the U.S. Postal Service. Along with having a full-time job, he was a bass guitar player for the Don Pray and Nashville Sound Band for over thirty years. After retiring from the Postal Service, he worked at several part-time jobs. Paul worked diligently and hard all his life and completely retiring two years ago. 

He married Trinie Sanchez of Dodge City, and together they had two children. He later married Fausta Andrade Muñoz in Dodge City, Kansas. She survives. 

Paul is survived by his beloved wife Fausta Andrade Muñoz of the home, daughter Cynthia Powers and husband Donald, granddaughters Taylor and Talia of Wichita, son Bryan Muñoz and children Vince, Alexis, and Emily of Topeka, stepsons Carlos Castro, wife Monica, daughter Sarah of Dodge City, and Jorge Castro, wife Monica, daughter Janine, and son Abraham of Denver, CO. Paul is also survived by his sister Vicenta Muñoz Bernal, niece Mary Bernal Rodriguez, and brother Frank Muñoz and wife Betty, all of Denver, CO and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. 

Paul was preceded in death by his parents,5 brothers Mike, Gerald, Marcello, Mauro, Jimmy, and sister Margaret Muñoz Jacobs, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. 

Vigil service will be 7:00 pm Friday March 31, 2017 at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Saturday April 1, 2017 at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe with Fr. Aneesh Parappanattu presiding. Friends may call from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm Friday at Ziegler Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City.
