Fredrick “Freddie” Kramer

Fredrick “Freddie” Kramer, 83, died Sunday, April 16, 2017 at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City.

He was born December 20, 1933 at Cimarron, the son of Frederick and Margaret Mary (Spanier) Kramer. He graduated from Cimarron High School in 1952 and received his Associates Degree from Dodge City Community College. He was drafted in to the United States Army in June of 1953 and served at the end of the Korean War and was honorably discharged in July 1961.

For 54 years he owned and operated Kramer Insurance Agency in Cimarron until retiring in 2014.

He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and 3rd and 4th Degree Member of Knights of Columbus Council #10791 both in Ingalls. He was a charter member of the Cimarron Lions Club where he received the “Melvin Jones Fellow” Award for dedicated humanitarian services. He was also a member of the Cimarron Golf Club, VFW and American Legion. He loved playing golf, playing cards, bowling, watching his grandchildren’s sporting events and for many years ran the clock for the Cimarron High School football games.

On September 19, 1964 he married Sue Werner at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Offerle.

Survivors include: his wife, Sue, Cimarron; 3 children, Paul Kramer and wife Rona, Cimarron, Jason Kramer and wife Susan, Table Rock Lake, Missouri and Jennifer Kramer-McPhail and husband Matt, Grapevine, Texas; 3 sisters, Phyllis Cohoon, Dodge City, Bertha “Bertie” Madden, McPherson and Barbara Trent, El Dorado; 5 grandchildren, Chelsea Walker and husband James, Kaitlyn Dinges, Joshua Weishapl, Aiden McPhail and Logan McPhail; and a great granddaughter, Paige Walker.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 siblings, Mary LeAnda McDaniel, Marvin “Squirt” Kramer, Genevieve Gray, Anna Elaine Sechler, Pete Kramer and Valentine “Bud” Kramer and a daughter-in-law, Annette Kramer.

Vigil service will be 7:00 pm Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Wednesday at the church with Fr. Peter Tran presiding. Burial will follow in the Cimarron Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be Tuesday from Noon to 4:00 pm at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Cimarron.
