Bruce Alan Cox, 63, died Monday, May 15, 2017 in Dodge City.

He was born June 5, 1953 at Dodge City, Kansas, the son of Loren “Dale” & Dolores M. (Kirmer) Cox. Bruce spent most of his youth in Spearville, graduating from Spearville High School. After high school he worked on many harvesting crews and was a welder for Harsh of Dodge City. Bruce loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. His favorite pastimes were motorcycles, fishing, the Doctor’s Office Bar and the casino.

Survivors include: his 3 children, Bruce Colbert and wife Shelbey, Dodge City, Samantha Baldwin and husband Jeremy, Hays and Cristi Cox and fiancé Tanner, Wright; 2 brothers, Wayne Cox and wife Jane, Goodyear, Arizona and Mike Cox and wife Julie, Arlington, Texas; 2 sisters, Sandra Kohn and companion Jerry Hale and Krista Burkhart and husband Tom both of Cimarron and 5 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A gathering of family and friends will be Memorial Day Weekend at 11:00 am Sunday, May 28, 2017 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 800 W. Frontview, Dodge City. There will be no public visitation as cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at the Bucklin Community Church, Bucklin, with Scott Tilley officiating. Private family inurnment will be at a later date.

Bruce was able to possibly help over 50 individuals by being an organ donor.
