Becker Gets 25 Years to Life

(westernkansasnews.com) Anthony Becker was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison yesterday for the shooting death of Christopher Boyd in April 2015. Becker was found guilty of first degree murder in November 2016.

Chelsea Sosa and James Schmidt the co-defendants in the case, testified that Becker shot Boyd at Becker’s parents house. Sosa and Schmidt made plea deals prior to trial.

A video tape showed in trial that Becker admitted to the shooting and that he and Schmidt disposed the body near the Bucklin bridge.

At some point Becker, Schmidt and Boyd all dated Sosa and had used meth. Schmidt violated his 24 month probation on June 2 by using meth. His probation was started over.
