Lee Richardson Zoo Celebrates World Giraffe Day

Garden City, KS(westernkansasnews.com) The Lee Richardson Zoo will be bringing special attention to our tallest animals on Wednesday, June 21st from 4 pm until 6 pm for World Giraffe Day. This date was chosen as it is the longest day of the year for the animal with the longest neck.

From 4 pm until 6 pm you can learn about our long-necked friends at our informational Discovery Cart and also enjoy some fun giraffe crafts. At 4:30 pm you can ask our giraffes’ caretakers questions. Immediately after the talk, you can meet our giraffes up close during our Giraffe Encounters.

Lee Richardson Zoo has two reticulated giraffes, Juani and Cleo. They are a breeding pair and in the future may produce offspring.
