Edwin Wasinger

Edwin J. Wasinger, age 84, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2017 at the Kearny County Hospital in Lakin, Kansas.  He was born on April 13, 1933 in Scott County, Kansas, the son of Wendelin J. & Beata Stremel Wasinger.  A lifetime Scott County resident, he was a farmer and stockman.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, Kansas.  He was also a US Army Veteran and was a member of Kiwanis International, Knights Of Columbus, Wheatland Electric Board Member for 25 years and A Scott Coop Board Member.

On February 7, 1959 he married Rosemary E. Dechant in Garden City, Kansas.  She survives.

Survivors include his Wife – Rosemary E, Wasinger of Scott City, Kansas, Two Sons – Greg & Shairlyn Wasinger of Scott City, Kansas, Mike & Shannon Wasinger of Scott City, Kansas, One Daughter – Sharon & Richard Crist of Scott City, Kansas, One Sister – Bernadette Schampel of Canon City, Kansas, Five Grandchildren – Piper Wasinger, Kennedy Wasinger, Gage Casey, Haley Strube & Dustin Crist

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Four Brothers & Two Sisters.

Vigil Services will be held Friday, August 25, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, KS.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, Kansas.

Memorials may be made to St. Jospeh Catholic Church or Alzheimer’s Association in care of Price & Sons Funeral Homes.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday and from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Friday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.

Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
