Lady Demon softball sweeps doubleheader from South

Dodge City, KS(westernkansasnews.com) The Dodge City High School softball team run ruled Wichita South twice to sweep a doubleheader Friday. The Lady Demons(4-0) won game one 15-0 in 3 innings and 12-1 in 6 innings.

Game one

The Lady Demons jumped on South early scoring 11 runs in the first inning and never looking back. Raemie Lopp(2-0) was dominant on the mound striking out 8 in three innings and giving up just one hit. At the plate Grace Ruehle led the way going 3-3 with three singles and 3 RBI. Madeline Kalscheur went 2-3 with two singles and 2 RBI and Zabree Rodriguez went 2-2 with 2 RBI.

Game two

Raegan Lopp(2-0) struck out 14 in six innings walking six and giving up just two hits and one run. Grace Ruehle went 2-4 with a double and a walk-off three run homer in the bottom of the sixth. Caroline Williams went 3-3 with three singles and an RBI. Madeline Kalscheur went 2-3 with a double, single and 2 RBI.

Dodge City is back in action Tuesday at Goddard Eisenhower in a triangular with Eisenhower and Derby.
