Dodge City man sentenced to 10 years for drug crimes

DODGE CITY – (May 25, 2018) – A Dodge City man was sentenced today to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to drug crimes, Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt said.

Alejandro Acuna, 30, pleaded guilty in March to two counts of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance (methamphetamine), one count of possession of methamphetamine and one count of defacing identification marks of a firearm. Judge E. Leigh Hood today sentenced Acuna to 120 months in the Kansas Department of Corrections. The crimes occurred in Ford and Meade counties between August and November 2016.

The case was investigated by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, the Ford County Sheriff’s Office and the Meade County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant Attorneys General Jason Oxford and Will Manly of Schmidt’s office prosecuted the case.
