The Garden City Association of Educational Office Professionals Honor Staff at Luncheon

The Garden City Association of Educational Office Professionals (GCAEOP) held its Appreciation Luncheon on Wednesday, May 30th, at the Horace Good Middle School cafeteria.  The organization’s membership selects an Administrator of the Year and Office Professional of the Year, who are recognized at the luncheon.

This year the organization honored Leigh Ann Roderick, Director of Elementary Education, as the Administrator of the Year for the 2017-2018 school year.  The other nominees for the Administrator of the Year award were Ryan Meng, Associate Principal at Garden City High School, and Renee Scott, Assistant Superintendent for Garden City Public Schools.

Joanne Nelson, Board Clerk for Garden City Public Schools, was named the Office Professional of the Year.  The other nominees for the GCAEOP Office Professional of the Year were Shirley Ruiz, Administrative Assistant in the Instruction office at the Educational Support Center, and Ann Snodgrass, Assistant Payroll Clerk in the Business office at the Educational Support Center.

The GCAEOP provides a venue for networking opportunities with other colleagues from across the district.  It gives them the ability to share knowledge, trends and challenges, fostering employee motivation and engagement.  The organization also provides two scholarships annually to college students.
