Kansas Governor Laura Kelly and Attorney General Derek Schmidt will host the 22nd Annual Crime Victims’ Rights Conference on April 10-11, 2019, at the Hyatt Regency in Wichita.

This event brings together law enforcement, prosecutors, victims’ advocates, social service providers, health care professionals, crime victims, volunteers, and other interested parties to learn about effective responses, resources and support services for victims of crime.

“I’m honored to join such a distinguished group of law enforcement and crime victim support volunteers and professionals to promote collaboration and continuing education,” Governor Kelly said. “The diligent work they do to support survivors is critical for our families and communities.”

The conference highlights important support and recognition for those who provide services to victims of crime.

“Crime victim service professionals and volunteers work tirelessly for victims in Kansas,” Attorney General Schmidt said. “The conference recognizes their dedication and provides them with opportunities to learn and grow their skillsets to continue providing the best possible service and care.”

This year’s theme, “Honoring Our Past. Creating Hope for the Future,” emphasizes the critical work crime victim service professionals have done over the years and how the state of Kansas can build on those efforts to better aid crime victims in the future.
