1 killed following UTV accident in Finney County

FINNEY COUNTY, Kan. — One person has died following a UTV accident on Sunday evening in Finney County. The accident occurred around 7:30 p.m. at 5200 E. Mansfield Rd. in the river bed, southeast of Garden City.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2015 Polaris Razor was westbound in the river bed when it over corrected to the right and went in to a driver side roll. The driver, Bryan Cox, 21, of Cimarron was ejected from the vehicle during the roll.

He was taken to St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City where he was later pronounced dead. The passenger, Kenny Wall, 21, of Ingalls had no apparent injuries.

Cox was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. Wall was wearing his safety restraint.
