Epifanio (Pifi) Vasquez Obituary

Garnand Funeral Home

Epifanio (Pifi) Vasquez, age 56, of Ulysses, Kansas, died Monday, October 14, 2019, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses, Kansas. He was born August 9, 1963, in La Mesa, Texas, the son of Ysidoro and Corina (Guerrero) Vasquez.

Pifi was the greatest son, brother and uncle. There was never a moment you didn’t see him smiling or laughing. You could catch him watching his favorite Chiefs game on tv or simply walking about town admiring all it had to offer. Our small town was his whole world and the people living in it were his family. He went out of his way to say hello and to crack a joke that always made you laugh. He lived to see smiles on everyone’s faces. He was the jokester of the family and every moment was spent making sure everyone left his house laughing. He was the man that made sure he had candy for every child that knocked on his door for Halloween. Pifi was devoted to taking care of his mother. He knew everyone’s birthday and wanting nothing more than to see his family for his birthday. He loved with all of his heart. His laugh was contagious and his smile always made you break out into one. He spent every moment of his life making others happy. He will always be the greatest friend, son and uncle anyone could’ve ever asked for. His smile will always be engraved in our hearts and minds. Pifi, a lover of music, was a DJ for many years. He is now one of God’s best DJ.s putting on multiple shows for all the angels. He also enjoyed watching wrestling and is now fishing in Heaven with his father and two brothers. “What’s Cookin’?”

Epifanio is survived by his mother, Corina Vasquez of Ulysses; brothers, Ysidoro Vasquez of Phoenix, Arizona, David Vasquez of Woodward, Oklahoma, Albert Vasquez of Garden City, Kansas, and Carlos Vasquez of Woodward, Oklahoma; sisters, Corina Carabajal of Woodward, Oklahoma, Christina Rivas of El Paso, Texas, and Maria Vasquez of Ulysses, Kansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Epifanio is preceded in death by his father, Ysidoro; and brothers, Abel Vasquez and Armando Salgado.
