NEW EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT COORDINATOR HIRED

(FINNEY COUNTY) – This week, the Commission approved an employment offer to Stephen Green for the position of Emergency Management Director and Safety Coordinator.

Tuesday, February 18, 2020 will be Mr. Green’s first day with Finney County.

Green’s experience in emergency preparedness and disaster planning stretches across continents in both the public and private sectors. In his home state of Florida, Green started his career as a paramedic and firefighter. He worked his way up to Battalion Chief with Kennedy Space Center Fire Rescue. It was there that he led space shuttle emergency operations. He also responded to fire, medical, hurricane, and hazardous material disasters. Green facilitated international training for fire and astronaut rescue. He then spent 12 years overseas as Chevron’s Emergency Response/Safety Advisor in Bangladesh and China. Green not only developed emergency response plans and trained hundreds of operators in emergency response, but he also developed business continuity plans and led expansion projects for future contingency efforts.

“We are very pleased that Stephen Green accepted our offer for the position of Emergency Management Coordinator,” says Randy Partington, County Administrator. “His vast experience will bring a depth to the office that will elevate Finney County as a regional resource. We are excited about his ideas to benefit the community and increase our ability to serve.”
