Big 12 football media days to be held virtually due to coronavirus

DALLAS, Tex. — The Big 12 Conference has canceled its preseason football media days, set for July 20-21 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The event will now be held virtually for the first time in conference history.

The conference athletic directors and coaches decided on Wednesday to hold the summer event virtually due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Big 12 was the first Power 5 conference to announce plans to hold the media days virtually. Since last weeks decision by the Big 12, the Pac-12 has announced the cancellation of their media days, set for July 29 in Los Angeles, California. Smaller leagues such as the AAC, MAC, Mountain West and Conference USA have already cancelled their in-person media days.
