Student Drivers Working for a License

School is out for the summer but there are students at school working to receive their driver’s license. Garden City High School students will be working on the driving portion of the course from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., which started Friday, June 26th and will be done by July 8th. Students did the book part of the course during the school year.
Students are working on a competency course in the parking lot at Garden City High School. The driving course provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely operate a motor vehicle. The course gives students the basic driving skills and gets them familiar with the proper driving procedures. The course gives the students hands-on practical situations in which they will have to drive a vehicle in a safe manner. The students then go with an instructor on the road to get a real world experience of driving.
