Scott City girls tennis wins Cimarron Tennis Invitational

Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–The Scott City girls tennis squad made their season debut on Thursday at the Cimarron Invitational, and got their season started off in good fashion. Making their first appearance at the meet, the Lady Beavers were able to edge out Greeley County for the team title in the seven-team tournament.

Scott City finished with 24 points, Greeley County had 23 and Cimarron placed third as a team with 18 points.

Taking first place was newcomer Laia Mur in No. 2 Singles. Madison Westergard placed second in No. 1 Singles, as did the the No. 1 Doubles team of Bella Myers/Mallory Cupp. Placing third was the No. 2 Doubles team of Brynna Burnett/Rhiley Stoppel.
