Colby wins GWAC Golf meet
Colby, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–The Colby Lady Eagle golf team took home the top spot in the 2020 Great West Activities Conference Golf Tournament on a warm Monday afternoon, held at Meadow Lake Golf Course in Colby.
Colby won with an 18-hole score of 373, followed by Cimarron in second with 396 and Hugoton shot a 419 for third. Scott City was fifth and Ulysses sixth.
For the area, Jyntri Moyer from ULysses would score an 89 for third place, while Cimarron had three that placed fourth through sixth, led by Jenna Seabolt, Brayclen Lynn and Morgan Herkelman with a score of 96 and Donica Amerin and Gillian Heger placed eighth and ninth.
Teams will prepare next for regionals on Monday, October 12. Colby will host the 3-2-1A Regional meet, that includes all the league golf teams with the exception of Ulysses, who will be at the Class 4A Regional at Wellington.
