Scott City Tennis 2nd at Hays, 3rd at Trego

Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–It’s been a busy week for the Scott City tennis team, as they played on Monday at Hays, and in Wakeeney on Tuesday.

Monday’s meet in Hays saw the Beavers finish second as a team. Liberal won the meet with 27 points, and Scott City had 22 for second. The No. 2 Doubles team of Kalo Hineman/Eric Shapland would place second. Finishing third were Avry Noll at No. 1 Singles, and Ayden Presson at No. 2 Singles. The No. 2 Doubles team of Houston Frank/Peyton Samms finished fourth.

On Tuesday, Scott City switched the lineup a bit and came home with a third place finish as a team. Trego won the meet with 31 points, Sacred Heart was second with 29 and Scott City had 22 points for third place. The No. 2 Doubles team of Dutch Turner/Cody Vance placed second, while Peyton Samms was third at No. 1 Singles, Ayden Presson was third in No. 2 Singles, and the No. 1 Doubles team of Dylan Duff/Sage Stoeklein also finished in third place.

Up next for Scott City is the Ulysses Invitational on Tuesday, April 20.
