Man Wrecks Car Into Residence Causing $10,000 In Damages

On September 6, 2021, at 9:30 A.M., Officers of the Garden City Police Department, Garden City Fire Department, and Finney County EMS were dispatched to the 2800 block of C Street for an injury accident involving a vehicle that hit a residence.

When officers arrived, they observed a Nissan Rogue at rest, partially inside the north side of the residence. The investigation revealed that the driver, later identified as Nicolas Desir (67), Garden City, KS, was driving north in the 2800 block of C Street and attempted to turn east onto 300 W. Bellevue Avenue. As he accelerated, Desir lost control of the
vehicle and crashed through a wooden fence and into the north side of the residence. Desir and the occupants of the residence were not injured.

The damage to the residence was estimated to be $10,000.00. Desir was cited and released for Driving in Violation of Restriction and Inattentive Driving.
