4 People Arrested After Traffic Stops in Ford County 


12/27/2021 (westernkansasnews) – On December 27, 2021, members of the Ford County Sheriff’s Office conducted two unrelated traffic stops resulting in the arrest of four individuals for drug charges.

The first traffic stop was conducted in the 2300 block of west Wyatt Earp Blvd. in Dodge City, Ks. Deputies contacted a male driver and a female passenger. The driver of the vehicle did not have a valid driver’s license and the female passenger was transporting an open container. When the female passenger exited the vehicle Deputies noticed a cracker box with a crystal substance in it. A search of the vehicle was conducted which resulted in the seizure of multiple narcotics and drug paraphernalia.

Arrested:

• Sandy Marks (59) Wichita, Kansas
• Jennifer Ortiz (45) Wichita, Kansas

The second traffic stop was conducted in the 800 block of Wilroads Garden Rd. in Dodge City, Ks. Deputies contacted two male occupants of the vehicle. The passenger of the vehicle had an active Ford County warrant. Upon search of the passenger, he was found to be in possession of narcotics. A search of the vehicle was conducted resulting in the seizure of multiple narcotics and drug paraphernalia and a firearm.

• Miquel L. McPhaul Jr. (32) Wichita, Kansas
• Dennis Crosby (41) Wichita, Kansas

The two traffic stops resulted in the seizure of approximately 915.5 grams of marijuana, 38 grams of methamphetamine, a loaded 9mm pistol, and 575 suspected fentanyl pills.

All occupants were booked into the Ford County Detention Center.

The cases will be presented to the Ford County Attorney’s Office for review and charging decisions.
It should be noted that those arrested are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
