Asphalt Overlay Work to Begin March 18 on K-25

Garden City, Kan (WesternKansasNews.Com) – Traffic changes are scheduled to start along K-25 near Ulysses March 18, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation.

K-25 traffic will be reduced to one lane through the project area, which is from the north city limits of Ulysses and extends north 10 miles to the Grant/Kearny county line. Motorists should be aware of delays as traffic will be carried through the work zones with the use of flaggers and a pilot car. When construction is not taking place, K-25 will be open to normal traffic.

This project consists of milling one inch of the existing roadway and placing a two-inch hot mix asphalt overlay. A rock edge will be placed along the roadway, and permanent pavement markings will be installed on the new surface.

Venture Corporation of Great Bend is the contractor on this $1.5 million project, which is expected to be completed by the end of April, weather permitting.
