81 Year Old Man Arrested After Stalking Woman

GARDEN CITY, Kan (WesternKansasNews.Com) – On April 4, 2022, Officers of the Garden City Police Department were dispatched to 1709 Labrador Boulevard (Florence Wilson Elementary), for criminal damage that just occurred. Officers were notified that a man slashed a tire in front of the school.

The investigation revealed a woman had arrived at school to drop off her child when a man, later identified as Richard Goldy (81), Garden City, KS, approached her vehicle and used a pocketknife to puncture a tire of the woman’s vehicle. Goldy then yelled profanities at the woman while punching her windows and left the school before law enforcement arrived. Officers learned that Goldy had been stalking the woman for several months.

Goldy was later located and arrested at his residence. Goldy was lodged in the Finney County Jail on charges of Stalking, Criminal Damage to Property, and Disorderly Conduct.

The person(s) involved has not yet been convicted of a crime and are presumed innocent. The presumption of innocence shall continue until such time that the person(s) accused may be found guilty by a court of law.
