Scott City boys second, girls third in Cheney

Cheney, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–It has been the wind that has impacted many track meets this spring. On Friday at the Vernon Ferguson Invitational in Cheney, it would be storms in the area that would put a halt to the meet. The meet would get all but the last few completed, and Scott City would see their boys finish second and the girls third.

Garden Plain won the boys meet with 93 points, while Scott City was second with 77.5 points. Scott City would sweep the top three spots in the pole vault with Carson Faurot, Camden Vulgamore and Collin McDaniel, and several other placing in the top three. For the girls side, Garden Plain would take the girls meet with 110 points, while Cheney had 95 for second and Scott City was third with 84 points. Several girls won their events, including Kennedy Holstein in the 400M Dash, Ella Rumford in high jump, Madison Westergard in Shot Put and Alivia Noll in Pole Vault.

Scott City will be in Garden City on Tuesday and in Lakin on Friday.
