Buffaloes win 6A Regional Golf qualifying for State

Andover, Kan (WesternKansasNews.Com) – The Garden City Buffaloes Golf team had a stellar day Monday in Andover. The Buffalo golfers won the 6A Regional with a 298 score.

Freshman Maddix Shook tied for medalist honors with a 68. Theo Juhl placed third at 70. Jack Koksal finished eighth at 79 and Aaron Allen at 81 placing four Buffaloes in the top ten.

The 6A state will be played at a familiar tournament site – Mariah Hills Golf Course in Dodge City – where the Buffs won the WAC tournament earlier this season. The tournament will be played Monday and Tuesday, May 23 and 24, with 12 competing teams. After the first round, the field will be cut to the low six teams and then the next 18 lowest individual scores whose teams did not qualify.
