Lady Beaver volleyball to see several varsity newcomers in lineup

Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–The Scott City Lady Beaver volleyball team will have a new look in 2022. Gone from a 30-10 team are a group of seniors that helped the Lady Beavers reach the sub-state championship match in two of the last three seasons.

Just three players with significant playing time on the varsity return from last years team. Although it’s the youngest they have been in a few years, there is some optimism for the season.

Returning varsity experience includes seniors Priscilla Peregrino, Brooke Strine and Hannah Tucker, as well as junior Dayanara Castillo.

Scott City will get an early test with matches in the Hays Invitational, and will see Goodland in early September.

Around 25 players make up of this year’s team, coached by Lauren Robinson and assisted by Emily Kite and Marci Patton.
