Area teams compete at Rim Rock Classic

Lawrence, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–Several area teams made their way to Lawrence for the annual Rim Rock Farm Classic on Saturday. 

Garden City’s boys would compete in the Boys’ Gold 5k and place third out of 25 teams. They were led by Josiah Munoz, who finished 12th in a time of 16:09.60. In the Girls’ Crimson 5k, Garden City came in ninth and Dodge City was 27th out of 32 teams. Cate Wiese was 34th to lead Garden City with a time of 21:01.60 and Dodge City was led by Alex Gere, who was 56th in a time of 21:31.10

Dodge City’s boys were in the Boys’ Crimson 5k, and placed ninth out of 40 teams. Leading the way was David Ultreras with a 26th place finish in a time of 17:09.00.

Cimarron, Holcomb and Scott City were all in the Boy’s Blue 5k and Girls’ Blue 5k. On the boys side, Holcomb came in second place and Scott City was 10th, and Cimarron was 38th out of 46 schools. The Longhorns were led by a 15th place finish from Jeb Stoppel in a time of 17:38.90. Scott City saw Bryndan Bailey lead the way for the Beavers with an 86th place finish with a time of 19:14.10. Cimarron was led by Trenton Briggs, who was 92nd in a time of 19:21.60. For the girls, Holcomb was 15th, Cimarron 25th and Scott City 29th out of 36 teams. The Lady Longhorns top runner was Jenna Ardery, who was 18th in a time of 21:29.40. For the Lady Bluejays, it was a 15th place finish for Janae Fugitt in a time of 21:21.30. Scott City was led by Belle Trout, who was 72nd in a time of 23:13.30.
