DODGE CITY–Angel Lopez earned his seventh brace of the season Tuesday at Memorial Stadium and Dodge City’s defense posted its ninth straight shutout, paving the way for a 4-0 win over Free State to send the Red Demons to the Final Four.

Lopez opened the scoring in the 11th minute with a rebound goal inside the box.

Irwin Macias scored on a restart just minutes later to widen the lead, and Francisco Hernandez scored on a bullet from the top of the box to make it a 3-0 advantage at the half.

Angel Lopez added his second goal several minutes into the second half, and the second line took it the rest of the way.

Dodge City is the only program in Kansas boys’ soccer history to complete two undefeated state title runs.

The Red Demons improve to 19-0 with the win.

Dodge City advances to the Final Four of the KSHSAA playoffs for the eighth time in program history. Kickoff against Olathe West is scheduled for 5 p.m. CT Friday at Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita.
