Garden City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–A two-vehicle accident occurred just after noon on Thursday on U.S. Highway 83, seven miles south of Garden City, in Finney County.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol Report, a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 48-year-old Jacob Unger Wiebe of Plymell was westbound on Parallel Road, when he failed to yield and was struck by a northbound 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by 28-year-old Eduardo Garcia of Plains. Both vehicles came to rest facing north on U.S. Highway 83.
Wiebe was taken to St. Catherine’s Hospital for suspected series injuries. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
Eduardo Garcia was also taken to St. Catherine’s Hospital for suspected minor injuries. Passenger in the vehicle, 47-year-old Juliana Garcia, was also taken to St. Catherine’s Hospital for suspected serious injuries. Both were wearing seatbelts, according to the KHP report.
