Click It or Ticket campaign set to begin in Kansas

Garden City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–The Garden City Police Department will join law enforcement agencies across Kansas in aggressively enforcing occupant restraint and other traffic laws as part of the statewide Click It or Ticket campaign.

 

The Click It or Ticket campaign, occurring May 22 – June 4, 2023, focuses on safety education, strong laws, and law enforcement support to save lives. Seat belts have been proven to be one of the best ways to save your life in a crash, no matter what vehicle you drive.

 

During Click It or Ticket, drivers will be met with extra enforcement of both the Kansas Safety Belt Use Act and the Kansas Child Passenger Act. These statutes require that all vehicle occupants must be appropriately restrained. Law enforcement officers can stop vehicles and issue tickets when they observe occupants riding unrestrained or without proper restraint.
