Welker signs with Northwest Oklahoma State baseball

Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–Going into the fall, Brady Welker didn’t know where he would be playing collegiately. In recent weeks, he was able to narrow things down, and Friday, his decision as finalized. Welker made it official Friday afternoon by signing his letter of intent to play baseball at Northwest Oklahoma State in Alva, Oklahoma.

Welker has been a three-year starter in a variety of positions for the Beavers, and has earned first team, all-league honors in the outfield, as well as catcher in two straight seasons. As a junior, he hit .574 with five home runs and 21 RBI. On the mound, he struck out 49, en route to a 6-2 record with an era of 2.70 in 2023. You’ll see his name in the record books in SCHS baseball history 13 times, and currently is the record holder in batting average in a season (.574) and is tied for most runs scored in a season in 2022 (39.) 

He recently played for the Kansas Curve in the fall, and was a part of the Garden City Blues baseball squad in the summers. 

Welker chose NWOSU over McPherson, Friends and Ottawa. He will major in sports management and also health sciences.
