Pursuit from Colorado ends in Hamilton County

Hamilton County, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a vehicle chase that ended in Hamilton County early Sunday.

Just before 1 am Sunday morning, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office received information from Colorado Authorities that a vehicle was possibly headed towards Kansas. The vehicle had been in a pursuit across several Colorado counties.

The suspect vehicle was spotted going through Coolidge headed east on US Highway 50. A traffic stop was initiated east of Syracuse where the vehicle pulled over. As the Deputy started to approach the vehicle, the driver fled east on US Highway 50. The driver turned around and headed back towards Syracuse and went off road north on Grain Bin Road and got stuck. He then threw a handgun and methamphetamine out the passenger side window shattering the glass.

The subject was identified as 27-year-old Adrian Gonzales from Aurora, CO and was taken into custody without incident.
